Baseball Season FINALLY Over...

As a Chicago Cubs fan since 1967 this season has really been a tough pill to swallow.  Now before you go and start thinking "how has this been any different than the last 45 years" let me explain.  Being a Cubs fan it is bred into us to hate (fanatically speaking only) certain teams for wrongs they have done to you over the years.  IF you talk to any true cubs fan you can always strike up a grand conversation of the joys we get about talking crap about .....  1) Steve Garvey and those damn San Diego Padres  2) Anything about the New York Mets  3) the "how did they even get there" Florida Marlins....and the list goes on.  BUT NO TEAM gets under our skin and creates such distastes and dislike as the  STINKIN St. Louis Cardinals.  I dont really know what it is about those friggin birds?!?  It's like their only purpose in the MLB is to do stuff just to piss us off.  All season long I find myself looking at the standings and seeing where the Cubs are....and seeing if we are above the cardinals.  I could go on and bore you with several instances over my years that have added to the long list of reasons why I can hate them, but I wont.  Suffice it to say that ...... well ......  let's just let your imagination run wild here.

I will admit, as a fan of the game, I was happy to see an actual interesting and fun to watch world series.  The Rangers gave them all they could handle, but came up just short....again.  So, congrats you good for nothing stinkin red birds.  There .... that's the best I can do.

Now, on the "NEXT YEAR".  Well, well, well.  The new management goes and pays big bucks for someone that might actually do some good in Chicago.  I remember back in 1984 when they went out and paid the big bucks for a new GM named Dallas Green, and look what happened.  We got within one game of the world series, until the aforementioned Steve "stinkin" Garvey showed up.  So, I am here to say KUDOS to the new regime!  You didn't go and just start spending crazy money on the "flavor of the month" (soriano) just to put a big name on the roster.  You paid good money to let someone who has the experience and know how to make good decisions.  Let's hope his first one is at the manager spot.

I will watch you closely Mr. Epstein.  Please dont screw this up.
